Aiying Rong received her master degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science (Al- gorithmics) at the University of Turku, Finland. During her PhD study, she was mainly involved in research on cogeneration planning under the deregulated power market and emissions trading scheme. Currently, she is working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Management Engineer- ing at the Technical University of Denmark. Her research interests include operations, planning and scheduling of production activities in different industrial sectors such as the energy industry, the food industry, and the iron & steel industry. She has published papers in European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society and Applied Energy.
