As an IE, i have always wondered since my first year in university about what are key roles of IE to play?
Head of the School of Industrial Engineering, Dr. Abhijit Deshmukh, gave an interview in the Purdue University's webpage that “IE is the key discipline that has the tools to develop the science of integration that can help us build systems that are complex but manageable,” he says. “IE is a lynch pin to a lot of the problems we are looking at and could provide the key element to solving big societal issues … when you look at infrastructure or climate change, these are highly correlated, integrated problems. It’s a fascinating time for IE.” (accessed 11/01/2011)
his interview catches me since he mentioned impressively about how IE can play role in the age of GLobal warming? Do you find "....... It’s a fascinating time for IE." in his interview? After reading his interview, i found that he gave me some sort of inspiration to move on toward what i have thought before (that I nearly gave up to fine the way to achieve it).
Hm..... an "Industrial Engineer for 2020" , an IE with environmental concerns.
Will I get an opportunity to learn from the man? from the Purdue University. (.....the university happens to be one of the top ten best university in technology and engineering)
